RockBowl
A fun and challenging quiz tournament for the next generation
of Rock Engineers and Rock Mechanics.
What is RockBowl?
RockBowl is a competition for young students and scientists, challenging participants with both technical and non-technical questions related to rock mechanics and rock engineering.
The EUROCK 2025 RockBowl competition will be an elimination tournament.
Where?
The competition will be held at the EUROCK 2025 Int Symposium venue, the Clarion Hotel & Congress in Brattøra, Trondheim, Norway.
When?
Preliminary rounds:
Tuesday, 17 June 2025, 13:00-14:00 (during lunch break)
Wednesday, 18 June 2025, 13:00-14:00 (during lunch break)
RockBowl Final
Wednesday, 18 June 2025, 18:00-19:00.
Awards
Prizes will be awarded exclusively to the winning participants. As part of Geobrugg’s sponsorship, each member of the winning team will receive EUR 1,000. The winning team will also be awarded a trophy.
The participant with the best individual performance in the competition will receive the “Orange book” and the “Blue book” of the “ISRM Suggested Methods”, sponsored by Geobrugg.
