For Oslo Airport Gardermoen http://www.osl.no/en/osl

For your transfer in Oslo, you need to pick up your baggage, go through customs, then go up one floor to the departure area to check in for your domestic flight and go through security. Distances are small. There are check-in automats and fast baggage drop for most airlines.

CLOTHING

Bodø is at close to 70 degrees North, the same latitude as parts of the Northern coast of Alaska. YOU NEED TO BRING WOOL, WARM, WATERPROOF CLOTHES AND GOOD FOOTWEAR. At the time of the conference, the weather might be quite cold in northern Norway. An insulated jacket designed for Nordic temperatures is a must. Gloves, a hat, and a scarf would always be good to have. Consider bringing long, thermic underwear and a wool sweater/fleece if you want to spend a few hours outside. The weather can always change quickly in Northern Norway.

NORTHERN LIGHTS (Aurora Borealis) SAFARI

You will never forget it. Few things are more magical than standing in a snowy landscape and watching the green diva dance in the firmament, like the universe's pulse. Although a beautiful experience, it is crucial that you have warm clothes and appropriate footwear. Organized groups with guides and proper explanations will be available onsite. FOR DETAILS, CONTACT AtlanticMice Group & Meeting, NOT THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE.

Bodø

Bodø is an exciting and lively city with short distances between the memorable experiences. You can go shopping, climb in the mountains, go on a RIB safari to visit the world’s strongest tidal current and drink at a sky bar – all on the same day!

Winter in Bodø

Winter and polar nights in the Salten region is anything but dark. It is "color time" when the sky changes between pastel pink, orange, indigo blue, and hundreds of dancing shades of green.

Cross-country skiing, winter fjord safaris, dog sledding, and northern lights hunting - in Bodø and Salten there is a lot to do during the winter.

Being out in the wild all day does something to you. The sound of walking on snow or skating on the ice. The feeling of fresh, cold air hitting your skin. Getting frost in your eyebrows and red cheeks. But it is also nice to cuddle up inside and wrap up under the duvet with a view over the winter landscape. To explore architectural gems, learn about history, read, and immerse yourself in local culture.

The winter in Bodø and Salten is beautiful and full of contrast. When the snow has settled like a thick, white blanket over the landscape and the northern lights dance across the sky, it is like being in an Arctic wonderland.
